Mechanical scaffolding helps a hydra regenerate | Science News

Regenerating pond animals referred to as hydra inherit structural patterns from their unique kinds, researchers discover. When researchers anchored rings of hydra tissue to a wire (proper), they discovered that the added mechanical stability made hydra develop usually alongside one physique axis, and thus develop one head. With out this stability, the actin scaffolding was extra disrupted and animals grew two heads (left).
