William Trevor, the Irish novelist, playwright and brief story author, has died on the age of 88, his writer has introduced.

Penguin Random Home Eire tweeted: “We remorse to announce the loss of life of William Trevor, one among Eire’s biggest writers.”

It added: “We lengthen our deepest condolences to his household.”

Trevor received the Whitbread Prize in 1994 and has been shortlisted 4 occasions for the Man Booker Prize.
